Aftercare

  • Day of Treatment: Do not wash your face or apply any skincare products to the treated area for the first 24 hours. Allow the growth factors to fully absorb and work overnight.
  • Day After Treatment: After gentle cleansing, apply your AQ Active Serum or AQ Eye Serum daily to maintain and top up your skin’s growth factor levels. This is essential to support the results.
  • Acids and Active Ingredients: Avoid all acids, including AHAs, fruit acids, and vitamin C, on the skin for at least five days post-treatment. These ingredients denature growth factors and can compromise your results. Stick to your AQ serums only.
  • Days 3 to 5: Some patients experience slight flaking or dryness as the skin renews itself, this is completely normal and a positive sign that the treatment is working. Do not pick or force the skin to shed.
  • Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure after treatment. When going outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect the newly renewed skin.
  • Ongoing Homecare: For best long-term results, continue daily use of your AQ Active Serum or AQ Eye Serum at home between treatments to consistently top up your skin’s growth factor levels.

Does it hurt?
The treatment is virtually painless. The AQ DermaStamp device is designed to cause minimal discomfort. A topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area prior to the session should you prefer additional comfort.

Can I apply acids to my skin after treatment?
No. Avoid all acids, including AHAs, fruit acids, glycolic acid, and vitamin C, for at least five days following treatment. These ingredients denature growth factors and will compromise your results. From 24 hours post-treatment, use only your AQ Active Serum or AQ Eye Serum.

How many sessions will I need?
A course of six treatments spaced four weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. Once your initial course is complete, occasional follow-up maintenance treatments will help sustain and extend your outcomes long-term.

Is there any downtime?
There is virtually no downtime. Any redness or mild sensitivity typically resolves within a few hours of treatment, and most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately. Some light flaking may occur around day three — this is normal and resolves naturally.

Why can’t I wash my face on the day of treatment?
The AQ Recovery Serum’s growth factors need a full 24 hours on the skin to penetrate deeply and begin their regenerative work. Washing the face too soon would remove the serum before it has been fully absorbed, reducing the effectiveness of your treatment.
