Treatment Description

AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ is a pharmaceutical-grade, hormone-free growth factor treatment specifically developed to address ageing hair follicles and hair loss. Using the same patented Growth Factor (GF) technology as the AQ skin recovery range (originally pioneered through wound healing research), this concentrated serum is formulated with a carefully selected combination of growth factor proteins, active ingredients, and fruit oils, refined specifically for the unique needs of the scalp.

Hair loss occurs when the scalp gradually produces fewer growth factors and becomes less efficient at repairing damage. The At-Home Component: Between clinic visits, the remaining serum from each session is provided for at-home use. Preparation Instructions

  • Hair Colour: If you colour your hair, please do so before beginning the programme. You will not be able to colour your hair for the duration of the six-week treatment period, as chemicals can interfere with the growth factor serum and compromise results.
  • Clean Hair: Please arrive at your first appointment with clean, dry hair. You will not be able to wash your hair on the evening of treatment.
  • Hair Products: Arrive without hair products such as gels, sprays, or serums in the hair, as these can reduce the effectiveness of the applied serum.
  • Scalp Condition: Inform your practitioner of any scalp conditions, sensitivities, or relevant medical history prior to beginning treatment.

Aftercare

⚠️ Crucial Rule: Leave the AQ Hair Complex serum on the scalp overnight following each in-clinic treatment — do not wash your hair on the evening of treatment. The growth factors need extended contact time with the scalp to work effectively.

Day of Treatment

Leave the serum applied in clinic on the scalp overnight. Do not wash, touch, or disturb the treated scalp this evening.

Day After Treatment

You may wash your hair today.

Day 2 (First At-Home Application)

Apply 1 ml of the AQ Hair Complex serum to the scalp and massage in for a minimum of ten minutes. Leave on for at least eight hours, ideally overnight. Note: a hair growth cycle is 12 to 15 weeks, so consistency throughout the programme is essential for optimal results.

Day 3

Wash hair as normal. Tip: sulphate-free shampoo is kinder to the scalp and will better support the treatment environment between sessions.

Day 4 (Second At-Home Application)

Apply 1 ml of the AQ Hair Complex serum to the scalp and massage in for a minimum of ten minutes. Leave on overnight. Continue to apply every other day following this pattern until all vials have been used.

Day 5

If you experience slight shedding at this stage, do not be alarmed. This is a positive sign that new, healthy hairs are pushing out the weaker, unhealthy follicles, a normal and encouraging part of the process.

Day 7

Return to the clinic for your second in-clinic Dermastamp session. Continue this weekly cycle for the full five-week course.

Ongoing Homecare

  • Sulphate-Free Shampoo: Switch to a sulphate-free shampoo for the duration of the programme and beyond. Sulphates can strip the scalp of natural oils and disrupt the treatment environment.

Will it be painful?
The at-home serum application is completely painless. The in-clinic Dermastamp sessions can cause mild discomfort as the device stamps the serum into the scalp, however, the process takes only approximately 15 minutes and is well tolerated by most patients. Unfortunately, numbing cream cannot be applied to the scalp between the hair, so some sensitivity during the stamping process is to be expected. A mild painkiller such as paracetamol may be taken beforehand if preferred.
